What is your job right now?

Right now, I am the Vocational Placement Manager for MiHaven Training RTO 40928.  I’m responsible for finding work experience placements for all the students undertaking study with us.

What were your last 3 positions?

Ray White Cairns Beaches professional sales, Team Leader Army Duck Division, Rainforestation Tourist Park, Kuranda, Wilderness Tour Guide, Rainforest Spirit Tours.

What do you love about your current role?

I love that through my help in placing our students, over 90% are finding employment in the field in which they train.  This provides them with income, increased self-esteem, and the path to financial freedom.

What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made?

Retiring from the Queensland Police Service in 2015

What’s the worst career decision you’ve ever made?

Joining a Job Service Agency that hired me because of my indigenous community experience, but who I later discovered cared only about the money and not the client.

What do you think is your greatest strength?

Incredible people skills, communication, and understanding.

What do you think are the secrets behind getting to where you’ve got to now? 

The ability to never stop learning and absorbing knowledge.  Read everything. Listen twice, speak once.  The ability to tell the truth and still make people feel good about themselves.
